Henry Muñoz of San Antonio steps down as DNC chair to focus on Latinos in 2020

Henry Muñoz of San Antonio, the longest-serving Democratic National Committee finance chair and the first Latino and openly gay person to hold that job, stepped down Monday to take on a different role at the DNC and to work on behalf of Latino candidates around the country.

Muñoz, who led the DNC’s fundraising efforts for six years, will be replaced on an interim basis by Chris Korge, a Miami lawyer who raised money for Hillary Clinton and many other Democrats over the years.

Muñoz will take on the titles of finance chairman emeritus and DNC member at-large, focusing heavily on Latino issues and still raising money for the party.
